The Burnley and District Bowling League's new trophy was presented on Thursday at Bank Hall by the donor, Mr. Clifford Chapman, league chairman, to the winner of the singles handicap Fred Bulcock of Lowerhouse. Mr. Chapman also presented the championship cup to the captain of Greenhill, Stan Hampson, who thanked the delegates of all clubs for their behind the scenes work which enable the players to enjoy continued competition.

The runner-up trophy was handed to Martin Feeney, captain of the Bowling Green team, by the league president, Mr. G. Hope, who also presented the five-a-side team trophy to Jim Beatty (St. Andrew's Cricket and Bowling). The Express merit award went to John Gill (Greenhill) and was presented by Mr. Chapmen in the unavoidable absence of Mr. Ken Nightingale, general manager of the Burnley Express, who was detained at a meeting out of Burnley. Mr. Ken Holmes, league secretary, presented the league merit prize to Fred Williams (Greenhill).
