Colne ATC Adoption

COLNE Air Training Corps has been adopted. The Burnlev branch of the Royal Air Force Association officially took Colne's 431 Squadron “under its wing" at the Battle of Britain dance, organised by the Burnley Branch of RAFA and held at the Lucas Sports and Social Club, on Friday.
The “adoption” means that the Burnley association will help out with funds for the Colne squadron and also assist in the tuition of the cadets.
Those at the adoption ceremony included the Mayor of Burnley, Coun. James Meakin, the chairman of the Burnley Branch of RAFA Mr Bob McCage, and 431 Squadron Commander Ken Tunnacliffe, who is also vice-chairman of Burnley RAFA. Fifteen Cadets from Colne ATC were also present.
