Cynthia Taylor in the character of Yente poses besides an original iron fireplace.
When George Burnie the public relations officer for Burnley Light Opera Society was looking for suitable locations for a photo call for the forthcoming production of Fiddler on the Roof, he did not have to look any further than Cliviger. Calder House was built more than 150 years ago and was originally a farm. Now owned by local butcher Mr. Connearn, the house has been turned into loose boxes to house his horses. Hilda Basnett was allowed to look inside. The small windows must have meant inside would have been very dark. There is an original iron fireplace in what was the living room, but is now a stable and which might be of interest to the Towneley Craft Museum.
