Club burgled and vandalised over weekend. Stock had been removed due to previous burglaries. The club is 46 years old. A hole had been made in the outer gable wall through which the loot was taken, tables/chairs and a piano were wrecked. The well-stocked bar was emptied and the coin box and telephone removed. Even electric bulbs were taken.
There have been numerous break-ins over the past two weeks. There is demolition work going on in the area - "it's a pity it has to end like this". The plan of new premises in Lisbon Street are on display.
Burnley C.I.D. are investigating.
