Burnley’s loan signing Neil Buckley has played against some of the best this season and he believes it has made him a better player.
The 21 year-old central defender has had the difficult task of trying to control two of the strongest attacking sides in the country and enjoyed every minute. He has seven full league games for Hull City his home side which he joined as a YTS player. This season he was given the awesome job of trying to stifle the Liverpool defence in a cup game. “That was the highlight of my career so far,” said the 6ft. 1in. golf fan. Neil was also in the Hull side which came up against Aston Villa in another cup game. He enjoys making speedy runs from the back and is not afraid to go for goal when opportunity arises scoring in Hull’s 2-1 win against West Ham at Upton Park.
He joined Burnley for an initial spell of a month and made his first appearance in the game against Peterborough but was left out of the team at Hereford in mid-week. The current form of the Clarets has surprised him. ‘”The lads have a lot of ability but luck has been going against them recently. Once that changes, things will improve.”
