A car driver was taken to hospital with neck and chest injuries after an accident involving a Whizzard bus on Padiham Road Burnley, on Saturday 11th February 1989.
Mr Alistair Duncan Scott, 33, of Every Street, Burnley, was driving a Vauxhall Carlton car which ended up wedged under the back of the Ightenhill circular bus near a bus stop. He was released after treatment and the bus driver, Mr Andrew Smith, 25, of Whitegate Gardens, Padiham, was unhurt. A police report mentions another vehicle, a brown Mini, which is also thought to have been involved but the driver is unknown.
