Mr Fell with some of the Ladies' Circle chats to members of the audience, left to right, Mr William Irving, Mrs Jane Pollitt and Mrs Alice Neligan
More than 60 housebound and elderly Burnley folk were entertained cabaret-style at a social evening organised by Burnley Rotery Club. After a meal at the Bank Hall Miners' Club, members of Burnley Round Table and their wives in the Ladies' Circle gave a performance of their cabaret, which featured singing, dancing and comedy. Among those present was Rotary Club president Roy Fell and Rtn Leonard Meadwell, Burnley's director of social services.
