Despite the chilly conditions Burnley's antique market opened on Wednesday morning and Market Hall superintendent, Brian Parkinson was pleasantly surprised at the number of potential customers turned up, saying it was very rare to see 40 or 50 people in the open market as early as 10 AM. About 20 stalls have been taken so far and it is hoped to attract dealers. The market will include various kinds of bric-a-brac but exclude electrical goods and second hand clothing. Stalls are being offered at £2.50 each. The photographs show Jack Hodgetts bringing a touch of the west to the market, and other customers examining goods.
