Theatre

In addition to several professional theatre groups like Theatre Mobile, Welfare State and Burnley Youth Theatre there were numerous amateur groups. The Burnley Express had a regular "Stage Gossip" feature. There was a wide range of theatrical performances - plays, pantomimes, drama festivals and musical dramas including opera and Gilbert and Sullivan.
