The Leslie Tyson Burnley Building Society Collection

The latest addition to our "Other Collections" pages, will bring back memories for a lot of Burnley folk, especially those who worked for the Burnley Building Society, in the days when, despite being one of the country's most significant financial institutions, it still bore the name of, and had its head office in, the community in which it was established in the mid 19th Century.
This small collection of BBS related memorabilia and documents has been donated to the Civic Trust by Leslie Tyson's daughter Heather, in his memory. Leslie Tyson was Printing and Stationery Manager at the BBS from 1959 for some 30 years, but was well known also for his involvement in local stage productions.
We are delighted to share it with you here.
