Adelphi's Brian O'Higgins tries a header at goal, but it was off target.
From Neil Preston's Amateur 'Match Of The Week':
Keighley Green A recorded their second victory in a month against Adelphi in Division Two of the Amateur Combination on Saturday, 21st September 1974. Newly promoted Keighley Green proved too strong for Adelphi, and came out 6-2 winners to add to their 4-1 win in the first match of the season. Keighley Green have now taken five points from a possible six while Adelphi have still to gain a point. But to their credit the Adelphi team fought hard and never gave in to what must have seemed an impossible task to their players.
Adelphi went behind as early as the eigth minute when Bradshaw grabbed the first goal. Adelphi levelled the score after 30 minutes when Carroll beat two defenders and gave goalkeeper Black no chance with a drive from the edge of the penalty area. Keighley Green were soon ahead again when Francis Pollard easily beat Binns in the Adelphi goal and just before half-time they increased their lead from a penalty when Francis Pollard made no mistake knocking the ball hard and low into the right hand corner of the goal.
Five minutes into the second half Keighley Green sewed the match up with a fourth goal by Dave Brittain when his shot went in off the post. Minutes later B. Singleton ran through to score. In the 80th minute Bradshaw scored the sixth for Keighley Green with a shot from just inside the area, which hit the underside of the bar and bounced over the line. From the kick-off the Adelphi forwards combined in a neat move. A centre from Carroll found Harvey, whose shot bounced off a defender into the back of the net.
