Two finalists in the Burnley-Padiham area of the Golden Cue individual snooker competition were decided on Sunday, 26th January 1975, when Brian Large and Jim Skelly qualified with wins of 3-0.
Large beat a below form Mick Finnigan at the Irish Democratic League Club 63-58, 72-38, 65-33, while at Burnley Lane Central Skelly accounted for Mick Ludlam 91-57, 88-56, 61-52. Now they await the outcome of next Sunday's second semi-final when Sam Higgin plays Vic Reeves at the Fire Station in the large section and Peter Heywood meets Eric Pound at St. Andrew's Cricket and Bowling Club, Abinger Street, in the small tables.
