Padiham Station Was Open Again - But Only For Enthusiasts Special (3 of 3)

The 2-6-4 tank locomotive which helped haul 'The Rossendale Forrester', pictured 'light' at Padiham Station.
It was almost like old times at Padiham Railway Station on Saturday. Chugging past the snow-covered station on its trip down the line to Padiham Power Station was the steam-hauled enthusiasts special - 'The Rossendale Forrester'. Hauling a five coach train (one more coach than had been originally expected) were an ex-LMS Ivatt Class 2-6-0 engine and a 2-6-4 tank locomotive.
Due to injection trouble with the Ivatt locomotive soon after leaving Manchester Victoria Station the train was at one time running almost 2 hours late. But thanks to some good work by the locomotive crews and some tightening up of the schedule, she arrived back in Manchester only 47 minutes late.
Travelling on the footplate of the locomotives were members of the North West Branch of the Locomotive Club of Great Britain, who organised the trip.
