Off to the zoo. Some of the Padiham youngsters waiting to set off for their day in Blackpool.

A Day out at Blackpool Zoo was enjoyed by more than 50 Padiham youngsters on Saturday, 24th May 1975, by courtesy of Padiham Round Table. The table organises a children's trip every year, and for most of the youngsters on Saturday it was their first visit to a zoo. After having a good look round they all had a trip on the miniature railway, had tea at the zoo, and then went along the sea front before coming home through St Annes.

Round Tabler Mr David Murtagh, who organised the outing said: "All the children seemed to really enjoy it and nothing went wrong. They were singing all the way home."
