Trinity the Burnley Combination First Division leaders showed their character on Saturday, 8th November 1975, when they hit back from being two goals down with 20 minutes to go against Padiham Railway to win 3-2. these two points keep trinity three points clear of Park view, who have two games in hand, and Lumb United, who have one game in hand. Park view and Lumb also won on Saturday.

At Fennyfold, Padiham Railway shocked the leaders by going into a 2-0 lead through Peter Gillespie and Tony Lindsay. They held this lead until the last 20 minutes when Trinity pushed centre half Jim Allott into the front line. This switch did the trick, Allott scoring one of the goals and the recent signing from Worsthorne, Ian Howarth, getting the other two.
