Firemen spent Sunday night and the early hours of Monday morning damping down a disused warehouse in Curzon Street after a blaze gutted the inside of the building. The alarm was raised at 8.30 pm on Sunday 27th August and firemen from Burnley, Padiham and Nelson stations had the fire under control an hour later. A fire spokesman said the blaze had been serious but no-one was injured.
The warehouse at one time belonged to Baldwin's Brush Works.
