Derek Gets A Turf Moor Surprise

A man who passed his driving test just three months ago has won a new Hillman Hunter. For Mr Derek Catlow of Charles Street, Nelson, was the winner of Turf Moor Development Association's latest car draw. His 5p ticket was picked out of the hat before Saturday's game with Aston Villa by Burnley footballer Brian Flynn.

Mr Catlow, said: "When the announcement came over at half-time I was absolutely delighted. I've been buying Development Association tickets ever since it started but this is the first time that I've won anything big. When I arrived home my family just wouldn't believe it". The car is taxed and insured for four months from March 1st. Until then Mr Catlow will continue driving his four-year-old Cortina. The agent who sold him the ticket, Turf Moor groundsman Mr Roy Oldfield wins £50 for selling the ticket.
