Burnley Fire Brigade came through its annual Home Office inspection this week with Her Majesty's Inspector of Fire Services, Insp. N. Bidgood fully satisfied with the brigade's efficiency and ability. The inspection was a thorough one with premises, appliances, equipment, administration and personnel coming under close surveillance. A practical exercise took the force to Empire Mill, Rosegrove, where they were joined by two appliances from the county brigade in spraying eight jets on to the mill.
Yesterday, 12th November 1970, personnel were inspected by Mr. Bidgood, Ald. E. J. Willis (Mayor of Burnley) and members of the public works committee, who saw a demonstration of the brigade's skills.
