Victoria Green who had open heart surgery to remove a third valve from her heart, when she was four years old and very ill, has broken the English international standard time for the 400 metre sprint, running the distance in 50.3 seconds at a sports track in Birmingham. The Habergham High School pupil goes out jogging every night, runs for her school and for the Burnley Schools squad.
Victoria broke the standard time twice at an athletics meeting with other girls from Lancashire under the banner of the North West Athletics Association.
