St. Hilda's Girls' School have won the Burnley schools' Sports Association Shield for the first time, losing only one rounders game out of 10 against other Burnley schools.
All six schools which entered had junior and senior teams - and St. Hilda's junior team came through with a 100 per cent record. The seniors lost their game to Ivy Bank.
Mrs. E. Thorp, PE teacher at Burnley Girls' High School presented the shield which St. Hilda's will keep for 12 months. Last year's winners Burnley Technical High school came third.
