The imaginations of the children of Higham Primary School were put to the test this week when they were asked to take part in an Easter Bonnet parade at the school. They all passed with flying colours. Some 50 children took part, the girls wearing bonnets and the boys football supporters' caps. Mr. Robert Haythornthwaite the chairman of the Higham School managers and his wife judged the parade. Winners were awarded Easter Eggs but Mr. Haythornthwaite had to raise his hat to the imaginative efforts of all those who took part. During the same evening the pupils threw down the gauntlet to their parents in a fathers v sons football match and a mothers v daughters netball game. The football match was drawn 5-5 but unfortunately the girls lost to their mothers!
