Catherine Shirley with her trophies, she will soon be ‘tackling’ her first big competition.
Burnley schoolgirl Catherine Shirley is one of the few local girl anglers and she has just landed herself a place in a big international match on the Pendle Angler’s junior team. She has been fishing for nearly three years and has won a clutch of trophies but the competition to be held at Liverpool is the biggest she will have taken part in. A pupil at Walshaw High School, 12 year old Catherine would like to start a school angling club for the girls.
