From a match report by Keith McNee:
Burnley have now missed seven penalties out of the last ten, and Colin Waldron's 29th minute heartbreak boob was the third successive miss from the spot by a Claret this grim season. Waldron was just about the most dejected of a sad-faced bunch of Burnley players after another home draw which means that if First division survival is not now impossible, for Martin Dobson and his team, it is the next thing to it.
Burnley were much the more aggressive side in a lively first-half, despite the fact that Ralph Coates and Steve Kindon were not able to produce their best. Paul fletcher had a sparkling first-half and Casper did very well against a rugged defence. There could have been no complaint from Ipswich if Burnley had led by a couple of goals at the interval. Burnley at last broke through in the ninth minute of the second-half and much credit must go to skipper Martin Dobson who, with a determined, weaving run, won a corner on the right. Kindon went across to take it and his inswinger was blasted in the net by Casper through a packed penalty area. Ipswich scored a shock, messy, goal (Lambert) in the 70th minute and ten minutes later Walters could do nothing about a 23-yard power drive by Morris, putting the East Anglians ahead.
Then came that strange finale with Nulty heading in a centre from the right by substitute Collins in the very last second. Although the header was a good one in that it went in just the right place, it was a bit of a fluke too.
