This was the scene at Gawthorpe yesterday, 11th March 1971, when the bright young men of Burnley continued preparations for next week's two battles with Cardiff City in the semi-final of the Football Association Youth Cup.

First leg will be at Turf Moor on Monday (7.30) with the return on Thursday. Winners go on to face in the final, which is also on a two-leg basis, the victors in the other semi-final between Arsenal and West Ham United.
The Burnley boys, who have already beaten Liverpool, Blackburn, Manchester United and Hull City, are seen in the picture with coach Joe Brown and trainer Brian Miller. The players at the front from the right are: Bradshaw, Ingham, Harris and Morris. At the back: Welch, Rodaway, Brennan, McMahon, McNamara, Ferguson, Gordon and Falconer. Cardiff have beaten Swansea, Southampton, Plymouth and Rotherham.
