The third annual King of the Flights individual darts championship for employees of Lambert Howarth's attracted 83 entries, including several women, to the Keighley Green Club on Wednesday the 17th March 1971. Winner was Roy Ashworth who retained his title, defeating Barry Fort in the final. Beaten semi-finalists were L. Digger and F. Bird. A prize for the lady entrant progressing furthest in the tournament meant a play-off between Miss M. Scott and Miss K. O'Mara who both reached round three. Miss Scott won the award.

Highest finish prize was won by F. Bird with 83 and K. Charnock had the highest start 147. Mr R. Wignall was compere and the awards were presented by Mrs K. Carter (J. P. Works)
