The annual Lancashire area demonstrations of Football Association coaching methods was held at Burnley for the first time on Sunday. In charge were Allen Wade, Football Association Director of Coaching and Burnley Football Chief Coach Jimmy Adamson.
More than 80 men attended the all day session including qualified coaches, trainers, players and school teachers. The morning get-together was in the Turf Moor gymnasium, where Mr. Wade concentrated on the development of football tactics and functional coaching.
In the afternoon there was a change of scenery and the demonstration took place at Gawthorpe. There, Mr. Adamson's subject 'shadow' training and the development of team organisation.
Mr. Wade who attended the Burnley v Aston Villa fixture on Saturday, thanked the Burnley board of directors for their co-operation and, in particular, for the use of their training areas. Appreciation was also expressed to the club by an official of the Lancashire Football Association.
