The team on their home table at Fulledge: Mr R. Freeman, the captain, chalks his cue watched by George Ashworth, Peter Green, Jim O'Hara and Bernard Heys.
The Fulledge Conservative Club snooker team broke a record last week in the Conservatives Clubs League when they won their 11th match in succession. It proved a tense occasion for them as their run had brought them level with 10 without defeat established by Brierfield in 1967-68. They were away from home and on the small table at Abinger Street and the result could not have been much closer - 260 to 240 with the pink in the last frame the decider in favour of the visitors. Spectators were informed of the Fulledge feat by the home sports committee and the team was congratulated.
