When Trinity Methodist Church Youth Club at Padiham opened a year ago there were just five boys attending the meetings, but numbers have steadily increased and the club now undertakes a wide variety of activities. The club meets on Friday evenings and last week, 26th February 1971, a club from Nelson gave a judo demonstration for members. Mr David Rigby, who started the club at the request of five boys who said they had nothing to do in Padiham, said that the club is now hoping to take up judo. He added: " At first we were just concerned with keeping our members interested but now we have succeeded in this we are trying to get more members so that we can take on activities which aren't really possible yet.
Indoor football and snooker are among the club's activities now and it is hoped to have sports competitions against other youth clubs in the area later this year.
