Some of those who attended have plenty of room for dancing in the ballroom.

The Padiham branch of the Cancer Research campaign organised a fancy dress dance for young people at the town hall but it was not very well attended. The chairman of the committee Mrs Vera MacMillan said: "It was disappointing, but those who did come thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and if more had been there it would have been a very successful event."
