Budding artists, wishing to improve their techniques, we're invited round to John Cochrane's portfolio gallery in Hargreaves Street Burnley. There, amidst an exhibition of his own work, he gave hints and advice on landscape painting. John whose paintings have sold worldwide, has always been a landscape artist. He lives in his studio at Trawden, and owes much of his inspiration to the local countryside. Often American and European tourists after visiting the Brontë country drop in at his studio and ask for a painting of the place for a souvenir. The picture shows John, brush in hand demonstrating some of the finer points of his art.
