The only way to keep 100 children in hand on a trip to Blackpool, Byerden House Socialist Club has found out, is to take along all the club officials, their wives, and as many members as possible to help out. After that the recipe seems to be, a good line in entertainment and plenty of goodies. There was plenty of that when the party left in two coaches under the leadership of club secretary Mr Roger Morrisey.
After a visit to the Tower Circus, the party had tea, then took in pop and crisps. "It all helped to make an annual event memorable" a club spokesman said later. Among those with the party was Byerden's president, Mr Albert Lawson.
