The congregation of Elim Methodist Church during their procession. Previously unpublished image.
Little Vanessa Rawstrone should have led Elim Methodist Church’s walking day procession but unfortunately missed out through illness. Vanessa was crowned as rose queen earlier in the year, but could not make the procession on Sunday because of a cough and hay fever. Vanessa will appear at other events during her year. She was replaced at the very last minute by one of her attendants Kara Weaver. The other attendants were Victoria Giles, Angela Salmon and Jane Preston. Philip Ashton was the cushion bearer. Members of the congregation and Sunday School processed from Briercliffe Road to Thornber Gardens, for a short service conducted by Rev. John Fenner.
