When a girl's not been crowned queen very long, and it's her very first public engagement, she's just got to look her best hasn't she? Not any old hair-do will do for her or her attendants. It's got to be the best - "fit for a queen." That's why these girls went for a Sunday morning hairstyling - to be ready for Padiham Whit Walks. More than happy with the results is Padiham Green's queen, seven-year-old Gillian Forest (second from left), pictured a few hours before Sunday's walks were due to start.
