Leading the singing with Burnley Alliance Silver Band, after last Sunday's Whit walks at Padiham, were the red and white robed choir of St Leonard's Church. The choir walked through the town behind the Bishop of Blackburn, the Rt Rev. Dr Charles Claxton, and other clergy who headed the Anglican contingent and led the singing at the short united service in Memorial Park.

The event featured in the Burnley Express with two pages of photographs showing those who took part.
