There were six new records established in the first part of the St Hilda's School sports, which took place at Barden last Friday, 4th June 1971. The open 800 metres record was broken by C. O'Sullivan in 2min. 5sec.; M. Rowan took the third-year 400 metres in 77.5sec; Y. Musgrove made a new long jump (first year) record, and S. Collinson the third-year high jump. New times were made in the second and third-year relay events, both won by Walsingham House. Norah Byrne equalled the third-year time - 13sec - for the 100 metres.
