Part of Rosehill's recorder group, obviously well adjusted to performing before the public after experience of music festivals and local radio.
Rosehill Junior School's first summer concert week has brought a carnival atmosphere to the end of the academic year. Teachers Miss Brenda Whitham and Mr Michael Dawson stage managed the musical entertainment spanning a jazz version of a biblical episode to a contemporary story about a coloured boy.
Also featured in the programme, due for another run through tonight, was a recorder group tutored by Miss Whitham who have appeared at the Burnley and Blackburn music festivals and have performed on BBC Radio Blackburn. Commented headmaster, Mr E. B. Ashworth: "The concert held yesterday was a great success and many parents said how delighted they were." Over 200 attended the first concert evening, and the school reports a sell-out for this evening's performance.
