Industrial and canal scenes in Burnley over the years are featured in an exhibition of the work of Nelson painter Malcolm Sellers, which began yesterday, Monday 4th October 1971, at Nelson Public Library. The exhibition, of 19 oil paintings is a retrospective look at life since 1949 up to the present. Mr Sellers for some time lived and worked in France, and among the exhibition is "Montmartre" painted in France in 1968. Some of the scenes are for sale.
Mr Sellers has had exhibitions at Burnley, and has also shown work at collective exhibitions. Of his new exhibition he says "It is retrospective from 1949 up to the present and among other things shows canal scenes and industrial scenes, showing the ravages of the industrial revolution." Also featured are scenes of the Bronte country at Haworth.
