Peter Hedges runs into difficulties with the income tax inspector, Philip Smith, watched by Norman Johnson and Gill Hebden in the Garrick play "Janus".
From a review by Norman Powell:
In spite of the adverse weather conditions there was an excellent attendance at the Garrick on Wednesday evening, 30th January 1974, for their fourth play of the season, "Janus" by Carolyn Green. There was no doubt about the ability of the cast, or the quality of the production by Gay Williams, but the story line was not strong enough to support a three-act play with the result that there was a great deal of "padding."
Gill Hebden occupied the stage for most of the play and she gave an excellent portrayal of the wife, Jessica Hedges. The part of the other man was in the capable hands of Norman Johnson and Peter Hedges faithfully portrayed Peter Hedges, the outraged husband. Joan Wadsworth and Philip Smith completed the very able cast, and further performances will be given tonight and on Saturday.
