The projectionists Mr Widdup (left) and Mr Brindle set up their equipment watched by Mrs F. Collinge and Mrs A. Aunger, members of the social committee.
A look at Burnley and district was the theme at a film show seen by members of the Association of Friends of Burnley Grammar School at a meeting last Tuesday, 20th November 1973. The evening, organised by the social committee of the association, was attended by about 100 members, who saw four films produced by members of Burnley Cine Club. They were on the subjects of Pendle witches, walking in the Calder valley, places of interest around Burnley and "Operation Springclean", a film about the cleaning up of certain areas of Burnley prior to the Queen's visit in 1968.
A vote of thanks was given to the two projectionists, Mr H. Brindle and Mr K. Widdup, and to Burnley Cine Club for providing a very entertaining evening, by Mrs Vera MacMillan, chairman of the association's social committee. Refreshments were served after the show and these were kindly donated by a local businessman.
