Anna, Sally, Rachel and Emma point out the route they had taken to Eric Halsall.
“That’s the way, over there”. “That’s the way we walked nine miles along the windy, rain-swept roads to raise £110 for guide Dogs and Cancer Research”, the girls pointed out to Eric Halsall, president of the Burnley branch of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, after they had dried out at Hollins Farm. Rachel and Emma Potts, Sally Wood and Anna Nolan arranged a sponsored walk along the country road through Worsthorne and Roggerham to Briercliffe then back to the farm to raise the money. Rachel of Hollins farm, Sally of Simonstone and Anna of Blackburn are 12 and attend St Wilfrid’s High School, Blackburn. Emma, only 7, goes to Worsthorne County Primary School. They gave £70 to Guide Dogs and £40 to Christie’s Hospital.
