A scene from the Garrick Club's production of the "Sound of Murder" being presented this week. Seen left to right, are Andrew Wadsworth, Norman Waterworth, Audrey Mellor, Gay Williams, Geoffrey Pratt and James D. Wadsworth.
From a review by Norman Powell:
"Sound of Murder" by William Fairchild, the current Garrick Theatre Club offering, is a little different from the usual type of thriller, insomuch that the audience knows from the very beginning of the play of the plot to murder, and who are to be involved in the crime. James K. Waterworth played the part of the irritable, bad-tempered author, Charles Norbury and this was a very meaty role, played most convincingly. Gay Williams played Anne, the author's wife, with sensitivity and won the sympathy of the audience. Geoffrey Pratt was well cast as Peter Marriot. Audrey Mellor, in the part of the secretary, Miss Forbes, was particularly convincing and Norman Waterworth, as Inspector Davidson was a very nice policeman and Andrew Wadsworth played PC Nash.
Peter Hedges was the producer, and the stage staff produced a number of effective "noises off." Altogether a good night's entertainment.
