The Burnley under 12 team again distinguished themselves with an exciting 6-5 victory at Dewsbury following a 3-3 draw at Barden. The Burnley youngsters were two goals down in the first five minutes but gradually forced their way back into the game.

From a corner Casson opened the visitors' account but Dewsbury extended their lead after a long pass through the middle. Miller made it 3-2 with a long range shot and the home side were 4-2 up at the interval. Burnley were faster to the ball in the second half and Miller netted only for Dewsbury to restore their advantage with a high centre helped into goal by the wind. Burnley hit back with goals by Casson and Patmore to equalise at 5-5. Miller, Bulcock and Hargreaves went near before the winner was scored by Bulcock to conclude a most successful season for the young team.
