Scenes filmed in and around Sabden which helped to win the Burnley Rotary Club and Burnley Express hobbies' award last year; and film shots taken during a cruise to Madeira, which was the first prize in the hobbies’ competition; were enjoyed by over 70 people at a film show at Reedley on Friday.
They were screened by amateur photographer Mr John Rickard, of Brierfield, at an event which raised £16 for the Burnley Rural District Council Chairman’s Ladies’ Fund. Mr Rickard was thanked by the chairman of the RDC (Miss Alice Alston), and the event was organised by the Chairman’s Lady (Mrs C. Harper) and the Ladies’ Committee, who provided refreshments.
