Towneley Sports Barn saw a rather exceptional footballing hat-trick on Sunday when Barrowford Celtic achieved their third consecutive victory in the Lancashire Association of Boys’ Clubs’ under 14 five-a-side soccer tournament. Barrowford Celtic A beat Barrowford Celtic B 4-3 in a tightly contested final, said Mr. Jack Bottomley, leader of Burnley Boys’ Club who organised the tournament. Ten teams competed and each brought their supporters. Barrowford Celtic now go forward to the Northern Championship in Bradford on April 25th. Referees were Geoff Turner and Ian Routh. The event on the day was organised by Stephen Ramsay. The photo caption says it shows Burnley Boys Club A and B teams, but may be a mis-print for Barrowford Celtic.
