Councillor Mrs. Maw presents the trophy to the St. John's team, with the two referees looking on.

Padiham St. John's A are the new holders of the Padiham Youth Trophy five-a-side soccer competition played on the car park of Padiham Pool during the last fortnight (8th September to 22nd September 1970). And they had to knock out their club mates to win the cup.

In a thrilling final St. John's beat New Era A, of Accrington, 1-0. The semi-finalists were the two teams B sides. St. John's A beat their B team 2-1, and New Era A had a 3-1 win against their second team.
The trophy was presented by the donor, Councillor Mrs. Sheila Maw.
The referees for the matches were Brian Shirtcliffe and Danny Gallager.
