A party of women from Burnley Wood Conservative Club had more than they bargained for when they went on a weekend trip to Amsterdam. For the ship which took them across the English Channel was delayed for five hours when it went to the aid of a vessel in trouble on the rough seas. The 38 women nevertheless enjoyed the trip, and unanimously agreed that they will go again.

Part of the trip was a shopping expedition in Amsterdam's main stores, and a boat trip on the canal.
