THE Deputy Mayor of Pendle, Coun. Ken Walton (centre) presents the major prizes to "double” winner Mr William Penny and Mrs Ruth Storey who won the Open Section.
HE'S Pendle’s painting prize-winner - at the double!
Last week Mr William Penny, of Whitehough, became the first ever Pendle in Paint entrant to scoop two major prizes in the same show.
In last week’s issue we showed you his wonderful watercolour of a flock of sheep which won the Championship Class.
This week, you can see his painting of the clapper bridge at Wycoller which won the Pendle in Paint section.
Other Pendle painters have been multiple winners in the past.
Indeed, last year Mr Penny won the Pendle in Paint section with a watercolour of his Whitehough home.
But his double win this year has put him into the record books at a stroke.
