Members of the ladies section of the Burnley and District Butchers' Association held their fashion show at Lucas Sports and Social Club. More than 100 people attended. Brierley's Ladies Outfitters provided the clothes and the models and Mrs. Edna Richardson of Edna's millinery shop provided the hats. During the show presentations of bouquets were made to Mrs. June Berry of Brierley's, Mrs. Richardson and to the commere for the evening, Mrs. Irene West. Mrs. Moya Duckworth, secretary of the Association said that the evening had been a success despite the effect of the weather. Proceeds from the fashion show will be distributed to a number of local charities.
