Between 20 and 30 of last year's fifth form returned to Walshaw School this week for a reunion and coffee evening. Girls from this year's fifth form acted as hostesses for former students and guests which included the Mayor and Mayoress of Burnley (Ald. E. J. Willis and Mrs. Wilis), Mr. R. O. Beeston (Director of Education) and Mrs. Beeston, Councillor Mrs. S. Towler, Councillor A. Proctor, Councillor G. Taylor, and the Rev. D. Sainsbury.

Miss. V. Waugh (headmistress) said: "The coffee evening was to have taken place earlier but had to be put back because of the caretakers' overtime ban. Numbers were cut down because it took place at short notice."
