Fire Firm is Bouncing Back with New Factory

A fire-ravaged Earby firm is set to bounce back.
In April, it looked as though jobs would be lost at Ace Group, when it's factory in Water St was gutted by a blaze.
The next few months however, are set to see a new factory rise from the ashes. And rather than laying people off, owner Peter Robinson has plans to take on extra staff.
The West Craven Committee has now granted planning permission for the factory to be demolished and rebuilt.
It was completely destroyed during the blaze and inspectors had no option but to declare it unsafe. The building, which used to belong to Johnson and Johnson, was completely demolished in May.
Since the fire, the Earby business has settled into new premises in New Road.
Now Mr Robinson has been given the go-ahead from councillors and can start to make plans for the future.
He said, "We have already got various quotes for the work from builders. We are hoping the factory will be up and running in the next three or four months. We are planning to stay in our present building and use it as our head office for commercial purposes. That will free more space at the new factory." He added, "We have been expanding steadily over the last few years and will be taking on staff as and when need to. We will be taking on at least four to six people."
